On Saturday June 3, 2023, the Eagle Historical Society in Eagle, Wisconsin hosted “A Salute to Women in the Military” at our beautiful Veterans Memorial next to the EHS Museum on Main Street. The program was designed to increase awareness and generate dialogue about the role of women veterans and our featured guest speaker was Alli Chase, from the Alice Baker Library in Eagle. The event included stories of women like Aurel Baker Pardee, a Red Cross nurse in WWI, and others who provided aid to our military throughout American history. Toe-tapping music spanning the decades was provided by our own Kettle Moraine Blues group. It was truely a slice of contemporary small-town America.
