Charles Cruver

This is another in our series of “Residents From The Past” whose lives weave a tapestry of boldness, courage, and conviction that is the essence of the character of Eagle, Wisconsin.

Meet Charles Cruver, longtime clerk for the Town of Eagle.  Born in Jefferson, Wisconsin in 1874, Charles grew to be a tall and slender young man with light hair and blue eyes.  When he was 27 years old, he met and married Eagle resident Caroline Burton and made Eagle his home in 1901.  First elected Town Clerk in 1912, Charles Cruver honorably served in that position for 50 years.  He was also active in many other local organizations and served on a variety of board positions.  He died in 1963 at the age of 89.
