Did you know that you can buy a brick
to memorialize the name of a military veteran, loved one, family name or business name, to be added to our Veterans Memorial Walkway? Our Veterans Memorial is located on the museum grounds at 217 Main Street in Eagle.
You can relax on the patio to reflect on the contributions veterans have made throughout our history, and continue to make, to protect and defend the freedoms we love and cherish.
The Eagle Historical Society is also researching the stories behind the bricks, and can use your help. We are asking donors to write a short essay that will be included in a book that will bring our bricks to life. Your essay may include the following:
- Background information on the individual, family, or business
- Anecdotes that touch the readers’ souls
- Impact that the person/family/business has had on you or the Eagle community
- Photo of your individual/family/business (enclose a stamped, self-addressed envelope and it will be returned to you)
We would like your story by Veterans’ Day, November 11, 2016, and will host a Veterans Recognition Program on June 3, 2017. Books will be available for purchase at the Eagle Historical Society.
Bricks ordered by December 15, 2016 will be included in our book! (Download brick order form below) If you would like your brick included in the book, don’t forget to write a description for each brick!
