Ice Cream Social & Band Concert

  The Eagle Historical Society and Palmyra-Eagle Community Band invite you to a special Concert and Ice Cream Social honoring the veterans of WWII.  The theme is “The Forty’s; A Sentimental Journey.” featuring a special program of music that will make this remarkable time come to life. Hear songs made famous by Bing Crosby, Irving Berlin, Glenn Miller, the Andrews Sisters and many others.  Free cake and ice cream will be served at a recreated U.S.O. canteen!  Miss Catey and Mr. Woods from Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Wales will demonstrate 1940’s style “swing” dancing while WWII re-enactors and collectors, will appear in uniform and exhibit memorabilia.  Bob Younger, of Younger’s Woodery, has carved and donated a Wood Spirit using a log from tornado-damaged Oak Ridge Cemetery that will be raffled at the Ice Cream Social/Band Concert.  Bring yourself and a comfortable chair.
