If you drive from Eagle to Mukwonago, you might recognize the remains of Jericho School. Once a bustling center of education for generations of children from the Eagle area, it now stands as a worn-down remnant of its former glory.
Originally built in 1840, a new structure was erected in 1854 to accommodate the growing number of students. This one-room schoolhouse served the community until 1969, when voters decided to close it and merge with the Eagleville School District.

I graduated from 8th grade from Jericho in 1967. Many of us kids who went there still stay in touch. I have great memories from my years there.
I graduated 8th grade from Jericho School in 1967. I have many great memories from my years there. Many of us who went there still stay in touch with each other. I went on to Mukwonago HS and did very well academically. I don’t feel that I lacked a good education while attending Jericho. I enjoyed all my different teachers throughout the years there too.
Thanks for sharing Deb. Jericho school was one of the last of its kind in Wisconsin and the echoes of kids can still be heard as the wind blows through its worn frame.
