Description

By Eagle Historical Society – Curator, Elaine Ledrowski, Editor, Gina Neist

The Eagle Historical Society proudly presents five extraordinary women whose legacies continue to shape our community: Alice Baker, Mrs. Clarissa Wood, Mary Churchill, Katherine Whettam, and Eliza Chapman Meredith.

Their stories are narrated in the first person, as if each woman were speaking directly to the reader. Whenever possible, their own words are used, recorded in interviews or written texts.

Our research included photographs, newspaper clippings, published works, exhibits, and cherished artifacts, along with the memories of Eagle’s past and present residents.

May the spirit, resilience, and vibrant lives of these trailblazing women ignite inspiration in all who encounter their stories.
