Isaac Bottomly was born in England and immigrated to America on 13 Sep 1842 arriving in America on the ship Monument. He married Elizabeth Whitehead on 13 Sep 1843, in Wisconsin. They came to Eagle in 1843 or 1844, as daughter Alice was born in Eagle in Sept 1844. They raised 3 children, Alice Elizabeth Bottomly, Volney Jefferson Bottomly, and Byron Shelley Bottomly.

His wife Elizabeth died 26 Dec 1865 and is buried at Oak Grove Cemetery in Eagle.

Isaac shows up in the 1850 & 1860 Eagle Census as a farmer. But by 1870, he had a grocery store in Eagle. Byron and Alice worked there also.

The family is gone from Eagle around 1875.
